Shelby Young

Professor Shelby Young began training Kenpo at age 11 and earned his black belt under Master Jeff Hardy. After earning his Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Shelby began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Professor John Fain and earned his Black Belt in 2020. In addition to having competed in amateur MMA and many grappling tournaments, Shelby has continued to study many different striking styles throughout the years including Muay Thai, Boxing, and Savate. He also has experience in wrestling and Judo.

Nathan Widtfeldt

Professor Nathan Widftfeldt has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over 14 years and instructing for over 11. He has experience working with students of many different age demographics and ability levels, ranging from 5 years old to professional MMA competitors, law enforcement, and military personnel. He works hard to adapt his teaching style to best suit the student in front of him and show them the best techniques to match their body type and level of athleticism. Nathan currently teaches both Gi and No Gi BJJ for Balance Point.
